The trade volume between the Inland and Hong Kong amounted to US.86 billion in January 2008, with an increase of 20.9% year on year, out of which the Inland’s export to Hong Kong hit US$ 14.77 billion, up by 21.3%, and the Inland’s import from Hong Kong hit US.09 billion, up by 15.8%.
1,401 Hong Kong-invested projects were approved by the Inland in January 2008, up by 2.9% year on year, with Hong Kong’s investment in actual use of US.17 billion, up by 140.2% year o year. By the end of January 2008, the Hong Kong-invested projects approved by the Inland totaled 287,164, with US2.7 billion investment in actual use. According to the statistics on the foreign investment in actual use, Hong Kong’s investment accounted for 40.4% of the accumulative overseas investments absorbed by China.
